It was announced at the Yorkshire Premier Leagues Management Board last night that the Yorkshire Cricket Board has decided that it would be more appropriate for its representation on the management committees of the four Premier Leagues in the county to be at Board, rather than staff, level in the future.

Henceforth, therefore, Ian Cotterhill will join the YSPL committee as the representative of the YCB. Ian is a well-known figure in South Yorkshire cricket circles through his playing career with Rotherham Town, Rotherham Phoenix, Warmsworth, and Ulley cricket clubs, and his subsequent coaching roles. He is currently coach/manager of the Doncaster Joe Lumb team and is a former disciplinary chairman of the SYSCL. Ian is currently vice-chairman of the YCB, which he joined in 2012, and has been closely involved in corporate governance, finance and rules revision work.

We welcome Ian on board; he will be a very valuable addition to our committee, and we look forward to working with him in the future.

On behalf of everyone in the YSPL, the committee would like to place on record their grateful thanks for all the work and support of Gareth Davis, who has represented the YCB on the League committee for the last five years. Gareth will continue his role as Cricket Development Manager for South Yorkshire, and we look forward to continuing to work with him in that role in the future.
