League merger update
Posted on 10th August 2020 at 14:32
We would like to thank all the clubs in the YSPL and the South Yorkshire Senior Cricket League for their responses to our recent consultation paper about the proposed merger of our leagues. We had an excellent response rate, with all 59 clubs responding.
57 clubs were in favour of progressing to the next stage, which is to resolve the detail within our merger working party, and two were against the proposal. A number of comments were made, which will be considered by the working party.
We will continue to work with a view to achieving the original timescales. These were:
• Formal proposal to the Yorkshire Premier Leagues Management Board – by 29 August 2020
• EGMs of the clubs in the two leagues – by 31 October 2020
• Inaugural pre-season meeting of clubs – by 15 April 2021 (if merger approved)
• Start of inaugural season – 17 April 2021 (if merger approved)
We will continue to keep you informed and thank you for your support.
