Elsecar Cricket Club are displaying at their clubhouse in Armroyd Lane a series of photographs and articles covering their history; from the winning of the Wake Cup in 1883 to their becoming "Black Sheep" Yorkshire Champions in 2014. 
During their history Elsecar, have become champions and cup winners on over 40 occasions and the pictures narrate the events and provide pictures of the teams involved. 
The club historian, Jim Beachill explains; “Elsecar defeated all-comers from South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire to win and keep the Wake Challenge Cup in 1883 and make a small village team a famous one. That spirit and pride has remained with the club through many League Championships and Cup triumphs including becoming Yorkshire Champions in 2014, and extends to the present day.“ 
“The grounds and facilities are second to none in South Yorkshire, teams have always competed at the highest level, we have a vibrant youth set up and the renovated club house and new Photograph gallery are in keeping with the highest traditions of Elsecar Cricket Club.”
